AMAZING TALENT: The R&B Anomaly "LEERYCK"

Born to a single mother who struggled to raise her and her brother, Tia Camble had to go through along road to become the star she is today. Not able to develop a working relationship with her father forced this fast learner to adjust to the conditions around her. It was with minimal effort that she found sanctuary in her God given talent of singing. She sung Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” at her pre-school graduation and even though she was singing with the entire class her voice was the one that
everyone heard.
They could not believe that such a big voice was coming from such a little person.  At the age of 13 she remembers watching Monica perform “Why I love you so much” on Apollo. She turned the television up as loud as it would go and sung along. Her mother yelled at her to turn it down which discouraged her because all she wanted to do was sing at the loudest volume. Little did she know her mother was simply recognizing her amazing talent, “I heard two voices, but I couldn’t tell the difference between the two…I needed for you to turn the music down so that I could see if that was really you sounding that good!” she said.

That moment sparked her confidence to begin to enter singing competitions including the famed Apollo Theater. In the summer of 1998 she joined a local group called C.I.A. which stood for Cuties In Action, predominately a dance group. They welcomed her as the frontline singer and began performing at celebrations, local clubs and different events around the city becoming celebrities in their own right.

She began to love performing on stage more and more where she shared the stage with many notable famous stars. On the advice of many of these professionals and her rapidly growing fan base she decided to pursue a career in music. For years she struggled with her identity as a performer and lacked a proper stage name that would fit and embody her full personality. In 2003 she decided on Leeryck and wanted to spell it differently because that is just how unique she is. Leeryck was perfect because she is a
very lyrical person. She loves vocabulary and has a way with words as she displays in her poetry.

In 2005, in Atlanta, Georgia she met an Independent Label CEO named Johnny “The Money” Loften who guided her and showed her the art of converting her poetry into masterful songs.
Fueled by this new hunger, she linked up with a very close family friend Brandon Johnson, a songwriter in his own right and began working on songs together. Shortly after and thru Brandon, she met Terell “Random” Ward of TMI Entertainment and began working on her first album entitled “Conundrum”.

What they did together was nothing short of a masterpiece. It was evident she
had found her musical family to which she penned her first recording contract after speaking with label head Addie Cruz and realizing she would not have to change who she had become as both a person and an artist.

“I realized where I belong during my recording sessions with Random and now label mate Re’Von. It was so much kinship, I felt like I was amongst family. I am proud to be an official member of the TMI Entertainment family and it feels so cozy”. Says Leeryck

Leeryck has since released her debut single entitled “Love’s Hangover” from the “Conundrum” album which is available at all online stores. Her first video is also available through all video and media
outlets.
