OUT reports that James Franco lashed out at the website Gawker for running an untrue story, which accused the young actor of having raped his boyfriend and avoided a messy legal scene by later paying him off.
“…That is so f*cking offensive because I have friends who have been raped,” the Milk actor said.
Franco, who has been an outspoken advocate for gay equality and taken on a series of powerful gay roles, had his lawyer contact the website. Gawker refused to take it down saying they were only reporting “what the New York Post told us.”
